5th Annual Judge Schma Trailblazers Tribute – The Promise of HOPE Revealed!

2018 began an annual tradition of recognizing the trailblazing work of people who have been instrumental in implementing, and preserving Drug Treatment Court and recovery oriented services and spaces for a demographic of people that have historically been marginalized, underrepresented, and over exploited. Judge William Schma, the Father of Kalamazoo County Drug Treatment Court was the 1st recipient of the HOPE thru Navigation Judge William Schma Trailblazer of HOPE Award, thus inaugurating the annual tribute.

 

The Trailblazers of HOPE 2023 Planning & Development Committee are honored and excited to announce the 2023 Trailblazers of HOPE Tribute recipients: The Honorable Judge Tiffany Ankley-8th District Court Probate Judge, Mt. Zion Baptist Church-Lead Pastor Dr. Addis Moore, Retired US Marines E4 Corporal George McMillon, Co-Founder of Mothers of Hope-Gwen Lanier, Kalamazoo County Commissioner Elect-Jen Strebs, and Urban Alliance.

and inclusive programs, places, and spaces for individuals with

criminal backgrounds and or Substance Use Disorder history.
